Sayn, Germany
July 10, 1919
Dear Father:—
Will answer your letter I received a couple of days ago, containing the affidavit, but it is not worth while to put it in, as we are getting ready to entrain for Brest, France and sail to America. The first units of the 2nd Division to leave will entrain in a few days. But our company will be the last of the divisions to leave Germany. But we will likely get away by the 27th of this month.
Everybody is busy packing up and loading cars[?]. All other ambulance companies have turned in their ambulances but us. We will stay and take care of all the Division until they leave before we entrain. We will likely be on our way by the time you receive this. I am well at present, will write later with love your son,
Robert E Schalles
1st Amb. Co 2nd Div.
